I was talking today to one of my clients who is going through significant change and was going through some self doubt, wondering if she was really up to, if she’d have the strength and dedication to make it work.
Though this is very simple (and makes a very short article), it is such an efficient way to deal with self doubt that I felt it would be useful to share it with you.
So here it is…
I asked my client to ask her brain to wonder “WHY she knows she will have the dedication” instead of “IF she will have the dedication”.
She did say this sounded a little weird!
I went on to explain that put very simply, our brain loves answering questions. So it’s a matter of changing the questions we ask our brain to spend time on.
I then asked her if she had to write 3 answers to that new question, what would they be.
She came up with her 3 answers and much to her surprise, actually felt much more confident as a result of this simple exercise!
